THE CHANGING OF THE TIDES

It is a time of change here in Thailand.
After months of uncertainty and worry, it has officially been announced that central Bangkok has been saved from the flooding that has affected much of Thailand.


Although some northern suburbs remain under as much as 2 meters of water, the edges of the flood are now receding and inner Bangkok has been spared. Tragically, more than 600 people have lost their lives in what have been the worst floods for half a century in Thailand. But at least now the worst has passed and we can look forward to a positive change.


Of course, there is a sense of change all around the world at this time of year. Depending where you are, the seasons are changing from autumn to winter, from spring to summer, or from rainy to dry.


In North America, it is the beginning of the holiday season as Thanksgiving starts the festive season. Before too long it will be Christmas and New Year, and let’s hope it’s a good one.
